Homework is a frightening word, is it!!

Hey my dear friends. Once again I am here. This time for the little ones.

Mamma, I have got a lot of home work today!! Every mum and kid comes across these words daily. But have you ever thought that how frightening the word ‘homework’ is for kids!!! It is rightly said that homework is all pain and no gain. After all childhood is not just about emptying the mind in books. Childhood is a lot more. Homework usually eats up all the time and energy of the student leaving no space for other enjoyments which are vital for the overall development of a child. Don’t you think so!!

Homework is given to the students so that they can improve their grades. But as per my opinion it is the major cause of depleting grades. More homework means more stress. Stress can cause many things including: lack of sleep, fatigue, unhealthy eating habits, depression, and many more other factors. Hope you all are convinced!!!

But how could I leave the other side of the coin. I consider it to be my moral responsibility to look at both pros and cons of homework. Although childhood is about enjoying but it is gonna end one day. And a lot of times I have personally felt that homework give me the confidence that yes I am fully prepared now. It helps me understand where my strengths are and where I need to give more attention. It teaches time management and help students determine how to set priorities.

As anything else, homework has also got advantages and disadvantages. But the best situation is where there is a balance between homework and other extra-curricular activities. This need to be understood by both the teachers and students to handle it wisely.
