Roofing Installation!!

Everything ages with time. Even our roof! Roof is exposed to all the external elements including rain, sun’s heat and its ultraviolet rays and well as extreme cold and snow. These entire factors, along with time, wear the roof. This majorly leads to leaking of the roof resulting in peeling paint and plaster. Now that the roof is leaking and is all worn out, one really needs to install a new one as roof is one of the most important parts of the home which not only enhances the look of the house but also protects everything inside.
Earlier roofs were made out of shingles, but now steel roofs have replaced them completely. The reason for their increased popularity is that they are easy and simple to install. Even one can install the steel roofing over the existing shingles. It is highly durable and with the latest paint technology that does not fade for years, its life has increased more than ever.
Roofing installation has become an easy process yet due care must be taken to ensure successful installation. First of all one must take correct measurements of the roof to determine the number of panels required. The measurement must be taken from ridge to the eave. After ordering the panels of desired lengths as per the measurements we will now cover the shingles. While working with roofing installation, one must always wear rubber coated gloves. It not only provides protection from cuts due to sharp edges but also gives a better grip on the steel metal panels.
Although we have left the old shingles on the roof, but still to avoid condensation, one must put down felt paper. This will act as a vapour barrier and will also secure insulation. Some people also prefer to put wood strips under the panel for better security of the metal panels. If you absolutely require it, always use insulated wood. Now after that, install drip edge. Screw the drip edge along every eve to provide robust installation. Also cover the gutter sides with it, if there are gutters. Make sure that there in=s no space for pests and other animals to hide under the roof panels by applying closure strips.

Before installing your first panel, ensure that everything else is screwed down in a proper manner. The panels must be fastened in such a manner to the roof that they look attractive which someone views it from the ground. Usually 1 and a half inch screws are used for installing panels but the size may vary as per the requirements. Screws are usually spaced 2 to 2 and half feet so that ribs are skipped. The panels must be installed along the edges of the roof carefully. After covering the whole roof by applying evenly spaced panels, in order to give the roofs edged a smooth appearance, install gable trim. It will also give the roof protection from rain, blowing wind, and snow. Then apply ridge cap at the ends.  If needed one can also address the vent pipe and install pipe flashing. If the roof is installed properly it becomes highly durable and even lasts lifetime.
