Pros and Cons of Medical Marijuana.

Medical Marijuana is also referred as Medical Cannabis. It is used in the treatment of various diseases. Medically, it can benefit persons suffering from HIV/AIDS, nausea and vomiting, muscle spasticity and pains. Despite of the clinical benefits, its consumption is illegal in various countries. It is argued that marijuana is addictive and is dangerous for health. Studies show that only minor adverse effects are seen with the short term use of marijuana, but with long term usage, major adverse effects can be seen. Whether purchased legally or illegally one has to pay high price for marijuana.
Medical marijuana is legal in some countries and patients can benefit from it in clinics under physician’s supervision. Doctors also recommend it for chronic diseases and conditions. It is considered to improve life of terminally ill people. But high price is to be paid for high quality marijuana. The two major ingredients of it are tetrahydrocannabinol and cannabidiol. These are considered to have exceptional pain relieving properties especially pain from nerve damage. It is also considered that it slows the spread of cancer cells in the body. A lot of patients are currently dependent on it for various discomforts.
Medical marijuana can be harmful in certain conditions. This is the reason why its recreational use is banned in a number of major countries. Although it medical use is legal in many countries still it has a number of harmful effects. Being a versatile medicine, as it provides benefits in various diseases but is also dangerous for health. There have been controversies regarding its use in clinics. One has to pay high price with its use in terms of side effects. It may cause various side effects including drowsiness, short-term memory loss, giddiness, red eyes, hunger, dry mouth or thirst, insomnia, respiratory issues, uneasiness or anxiety. Apart from this, most of the side effects can be treated side by side.
Medical marijuana can be taken in a number of ways. One can benefit from it by taking it in the form of capsules or oral sprays, eat extracts and vaporize or smoke dried buds. Out of these smoking is not considered to be a good way of taking marijuana instead other clinical methods should be adopted. It can create other health problems. It can also become addictive in some cases leading to severe health hazards. Apart from the controversies and high price, it can be concluded that medical marijuana is beneficial for certain diseases and symptoms, if it is taken it the right manner and under proper medical supervision. People need to be educated about the pros and cons of it.
