Rules of Buying a Used Smart Phone!

If you are planning to buy a used smartphone, then do take care of the following important points.

Physically Inspect the Phone - If you can't physically inspect the phone, then its better to not to buy it. Before finalising the deal, it is very necessary to inspect the phone in the on-line world. Scratches on the screen,  dents on the body and feedback of buttons should be properly inspected. It should be switched off and then switched on, before buying. To find out whether water went inside the phone, open it up and remove battery. Look for the small sticker with red dots on the phone. There is a water damage indicator strip on every phone. If it is there, then water has definitely penetrated in the smart phone some time. You should also check, charger cable, power adapter, memory card and headphones before making the deal.

Test the Censors - There are some things in the smart phone which can not be easily tested. One such thing is light censor of the screen. If you are buying a second hand android smart phone, then install a censor box and test the different censors of the phone.

Buy it from a Trusted Source - If you have planned to buy a used smart phone, then buy it only from a known or a trusted person. He/she can lend it to you to used for some time. If this is not possible then take out some time to buy the send hand smart phone and inspect completely whether it is functioning properly or not.

Insert your SIM - If you can't call or message from the phone, then it is of no use. Before finalising the deal, insert your SIM in the phone and make a call. Also talk to the person to check the voice quality. Test also by sending a message. Also check the 3G data connection, whether it is working properly or not.

Check the IMEI Number - Obviously you won't wish to buy a stolen or blacklisted smart phone. For this get the identification number of the phone by dialling *06#. This number can be checked on www.imeidetective.com database. Although this method is not full proof, as this database does not contain information about stolen phones whose IMEI number is not known, and also the information is not latest. So, you must ask for the actual bill of the phone, and take complete information about the receipt. Buy a used second hand smart phone only after getting fully satisfied.
