How to get admission in IIM A,B,C - IIM Admission Criteria!
The CAT examination is going to be help on one day i.e. 29th November. Now the question is What is the IIM selection process in detail. This time more weightage will be given to academics in IIMs. The sectional cut-off is reduced to 80 percentile instead of 85. To get admission in IIM, some changes has been made in Common Admission Test (CAT) as well as in the procedure of interview call. The top choice of management students IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore and IIM Calcutta (Kolkata) has decided to give more preference to academics this year. Although Bengaluru has not disclosed the procedure yet but it is expected that it will also follow the same as Ahmedabad and Kolkata. However, Ahmedabad and Kolkata has reduced sectional cut-off this year. This time sectional cut-off for three sections will be 80 percentile.
Procedure for interview call –
1.       IIM Ahmedabad
a.       There will be seven (7) disciplines on the basis of graduation in place of 5.
b.      A separate discipline is formed by taking out medicine from bio CA, CS from commerce.
c.       The number of students who will top in these will be 100 this time. Earlier 50 students used to be selected on this basis.
d.      Overall 90 percentile is compulsory.
e.      30 per cent weightage of application rating score will be taken. Earlier minimum cut-off use to be taken.
2.       IIM Kolkata
a.       Earlier 77 per cent CAT score use to be taken. This time 67 per cent will be taken.
b.      Weightage of 10th and 12th marks is increased. Earlier 10-10 marks were base, now it will be 15-15.

3.       IIM Bengaluru – Bengaluru has always given weightage to academics. And now when other IIMs are following the same trend, how can IIM Bengaluru stay behind.

Basic First Aid!!!!

Basic First Aid


Every year many accidents occur. With some care they can be prevented. In case an accident does happen, you can be of help if you know basic First Aid. Read each of the following carefully. You will be able to give vital first aid id needed. Remember to seek help from an adult IMMEDIATELY.
1.       RESPIRATION: If it is failing, give artificial respiration – MOUTH to MOUTH or MOUTH to NOSE.
2.       BLEEDING: Arrest the bleeding and protect the wound. Apply direct or indirect pressure. Cover with a dressing; apply a pad and firm bandage. Elevate. Keep at rest.
3.       FRACTURES: IMMOBILISE it with a well-padded stiff support reaching the joints on either side. Apply bandages on either side of the site and at the joints on either side, support.
4.       BURNS AND SCALDS: A burn is caused by dry heat and a scald by moist heat like steam, very hot water or oil. IMMEDIATELY cool the area with cold water for 15 minutes till pain subsides. DO NOT break blisters, or apply anything on the burns. Cover with a sterile or clean cloth, pad and bandage. Give fluids.
5.       NOSE BLEEDING: Sit him up facing the breeze with the head slightly forward. Ask him to breathe through the mouth and NOT to blow his nose. Apply a cold compress over the nose. The soft part of the nose may be pinched close with the fingers for 10 mins. Cold application on the back of the neck and forehead may help.
6.       BEE STING: Do not press the bag (of the sting). Use forceps and remove the sting. Apply cold or weak ammonia.
7.       ANIMAL BITES: Wash with soap and plenty of water. Loose bandage may be applied. Get quick medical aid.
8.       SNAKE BITES: Keep patient calm. Wash with plenty of water and soap. DO NOT RUB hard. First apply a constrictive bandage on the heart side of the bite. (Not to be applied continuously for more than 20 mins.). Do not incise or attempt to suck the wound. Get aid quickly. Try to identify the snake.
9.       FAINTING: Lay him down and loosen the clothes around chest and waist. Turn head to one side. The legs may be raised a little. DO NOT attempt to give any solids or liquids. On recovery a small quantity of drink may be given and he may be allowed to sit up and move after rest.
10.   GENERAL: If you are in doubt of treatment DO NOT DO anything. You may do more harm.

How to get duplicate voter ID card online – Step by Step Guide!!

The Election Commission of India issues the Voter ID card to every adult citizen. It is not only needed as identity proof while casting vote but it also serves as an identity proof, age proof as well as address proof for placed where identity needs to be verified. Voter ID card also helps to easily buy e-tickets, like tickets for railways, book hotels, or seek admission in highly secured public places. It is one of the most important documents which need to be kept safe for showing as proof at many crucial places.
But despite being careful, one may lose the card due to theft, damage or it can get lost somewhere. Losing the voter ID card can deprive one of a lot of privileges. For such cases, the election commission has a provision of issuing duplicate Voter ID card. You can get them online as well as offline.  Here are the steps –
1.       The first step as soon as you misplace your card is to lodge an FIR. The copy of the FIR must be kept safe and secure for the proceedings in getting the duplicate card.
2.       Open the website of election commission of India.
3.       Download Form 002 for issuance of voter ID card’s duplicate.
4.       Fill up the form completely and carefully so that no section is left.
5.       Attach FIR, proof of identification and other mandatory documents and submit it to the local election registration office. These mandatory documents include a document that certifies your identification proof like a copy of your passport, pan card, driving license, or ration card. You may also need to attach a document that certifies your place of residence or address like a copy of your telephone bill, gas bill, electricity bill, and so on.

After submission you will be provided with a receipt for receiving the documents. You can also check your duplicate Voter ID status online on the website and make enquiry about the expected time of the voter card delivery. You can check the status of your card from time to time online. If you have not submitted all the documents like copy of FIR, etc. you may not be issued the card. So be careful while submitting the documents. Every state is responsible for issuing the ID-card for voters of that particular state. In exchange of getting the duplicate card, you may need to pay a nominal amount.

How to Apply for Duplicate PAN Card Online!


             PAN Card is an important thing which should be kept carefully. It is not only necessary for filing income tax returns but it also serve as an important identity proof at various places. But despite all care sometime one loses it or it gets damaged due to unavoidable reasons. Losing the PAN card may make you tense because on the one hand inconvenience is caused due to its unavailability and on the other hand the whole procedure of issuing a new PAN card needs to be followed. But now issuing a new PAN card has now become easy through the online system.
Here are the steps to Apply for duplicate PAN card online:
·         First of all visit the website of the Income Tax Pan Services Unit at https://tin.tin.nsdl.com/pan/.
·         On this page of Income Tax PAN services unit, you can find all the options related to PAN Card like application for a new PAN, Reprint of PAN card, Enquiry and Tracking status and changes or correction in the PAN details. Since you want to issue a duplicate PAN card select the one applicable for you.
·         Fill Form 49A to get a new PAN card. You can find this form on the website. Fill the form properly and submit it online. At the time of filling the form make sure that your name which you will mention in the form is same as in the documents you will attach with the form.
·         After you have filled and submitted the form, an acknowledgement will be generated. It has a 15 digit acknowledgement number which you need to save and print for the further procedure.
·         You will need to attach a proof of address and a proof of identity with the acknowledgement form. Also affix you two recent coloured photographs in the form wherever required. These photographs will be used on your PAN card, so they should be recent and clear. You must also make signatures wherever indicated. After attaching all the necessary documents, send it to the Income Tax Department.
·         PAN Card existing rates (inclusive of applicable service tax) is Rs.106/- only for Resident Indian applicants i.e. card dispatch within India. Cheque, Demand Draft, internet banking, credit card or debit card can be used for making the payment for the PAN card. The amount is Rs.985/- for NRI/Foreign Citizen applicants i.e. card dispatch outside India. If you want to pay online, pay at the time of filling the form. You will also get a payment acknowledgement which is also required to attach with the form after printing.
·         After the form is accompanied by all the attachment, send it to NSDL in Pune within 15 days of the online application date. The envelope must be have the words 'APPLICATION FOR PAN - Acknowledgement Number' written on it. In case of offline payment, the application will be processed after receiving of payment. You will have to wait until your payment is realised. Complete guidelines and instructions are available on the official website to guide you through the whole process.

·         After this you will get the PAN card delivered at your postal address by post or through a reliable courier same as original without marking ‘Duplicate’.
